Company Description East Point College Of Engineering And Technology (EPCET), established in 1999 and affiliated to VTU, offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering. Role Description The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems that support academic, administrative, and research activities at EPCET. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, debugging and resolving technical issues, collaborating with faculty and technical staff to understand requirements, and contributing to system architecture and integration. The role also involves participating in code reviews, optimizing performance, documenting technical solutions, and supporting deployment and maintenance of applications. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, requiring regular collaboration with campus teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and databases.
Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript).
Candidates should possess proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including server-side frameworks, APIs, and database integration.
Candidates should possess solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them in designing scalable and maintainable software.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, and communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Interest in emerging technologies such as cloud platforms, automation, AI/ML, or IoT is an advantage.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
