Role Description This is a full-time remote Field Service Technician role that requires regular travel to customer sites across Texas and Louisiana. The Field Service Technician will perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery, including CNC routers, panel saws, edgebanders, wide-belt sanders, and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include conducting diagnostics, performing mechanical and electrical adjustments, replacing parts, and verifying safe and accurate machine operation. The role also involves scheduling and performing preventative maintenance, documenting service activities, maintaining accurate records, and communicating clearly with customers and internal teams. The Field Service Technician will collaborate with the service department to prioritize calls, support parts ordering, and provide feedback on recurring issues to help improve service processes and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience servicing industrial or manufacturing equipment, including installation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
Solid understanding of electrical systems, basic electronics, and the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
Experience working with CNC or automated machinery, including knowledge of controls, motion systems, and machine calibration (experience with woodworking or packaging equipment is a plus).
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, measurement instruments, and diagnostic equipment in a field service environment.
Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions in clear, practical terms.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work independently while managing multiple service calls.
Comfort working remotely, with reliable access to digital tools for documentation, email, and service management systems.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel frequently throughout Texas and Louisiana, including occasional overnight trips.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school training or an associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., industrial maintenance, electronics, mechatronics) is preferred.
