Role Description The (Security Technology Director) is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing security technology strategy and implementation across relevant portfolio companies and internal initiatives. This role involves leading the design, evaluation, and deployment of security architectures, tools, and processes to protect infrastructure, data, and applications. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with executive and technical teams, reviewing security roadmaps, guiding secure software development practices, and conducting risk assessments and technical audits. The Security Technology Director will coordinate R&D efforts in security technologies, mentor engineering and security teams, and ensure that projects align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role also includes developing incident response frameworks, supporting due diligence for potential investments, and preparing clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Team Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary technical and security teams.
Candidates should possess expertise in Research and Development (R&D), including evaluating emerging security technologies and driving innovation initiatives.
Candidates should possess solid Software Development experience, particularly in secure coding practices, software architecture, and modern development workflows.
Candidates should possess effective Project Management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and delivering complex security and technology projects on schedule.
Extensive knowledge of information security principles, network security, cloud security, and application security frameworks.
Experience designing and implementing security strategies in fast-growing technology or venture-backed environments.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are beneficial.
Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment and collaborate across time zones and cultures.
