Role Description The Senior Accountant will manage the day-to-day financial operations of SAHAJ MARG SPIRITUALITY FOUNDATION, ensuring accurate and timely accounting records and compliance with relevant regulations. This full-time on-site role, based in Chennai, involves maintaining general ledgers, preparing financial statements, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. The role includes managing monthly and annual closing processes, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and coordinating with auditors and other external stakeholders. The Senior Accountant will monitor internal controls, assist in developing financial policies, and provide analysis and reports to leadership to support informed decision-making. The individual will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper documentation, cost control, and effective use of funds aligned with the foundation’s objectives.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance, including experience with monthly and annual closing.
Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as proficiency in spreadsheets and financial analysis tools.
Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, and to prepare clear, accurate management reports and financial statements.
Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role; experience in non-profit or foundation settings is beneficial.
