In this role, you will drive supplier partnerships, sourcing strategy, and cross-border business development between China and emerging markets. Focus industries include crop protection, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, food ingredients, coatings, fuel additives, lubricants, and industrial chemicals. Position Overview The Procurement & Business Development Manager will act as a strategic bridge between China suppliers and regional markets, supporting supplier sourcing, evaluation, onboarding, and long-term partnership development. Key Responsibilities
Supplier Sourcing & Qualification
Identify, map, and assess chemical manufacturers, suppliers, and exporters across China
Shortlist suppliers aligned with product portfolio expansion needs
Evaluate supplier capabilities, certifications, and export readiness
Supplier Onboarding & Relationship Management
Lead supplier negotiations and onboarding processes
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key principals and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with internal procurement and partnership standards
Procurement & Commercial Coordination
Support sourcing activities including pricing, documentation, and commercial discussions
Coordinate procurement processes across cross-border transactions
Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders
Portfolio Expansion & Business Development
Identify new product opportunities to strengthen company portfolio
Explore exclusive or strategic distribution partnerships
Align supplier development with company growth strategy
Market Intelligence & Strategy Support
Provide insights on supplier landscape, industry trends, and emerging technologies
Monitor Chinese chemical market developments and opportunities
Support strategic sourcing and expansion initiatives Candidate Requirements Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, trading, or business development
Experience in chemical distribution, exports, or imports is highly preferred Skills
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
Solid understanding of Chinese supplier market landscape
Ability to manage commercial discussions independently
Proficiency in English and Chinese Personal Attributes
