About the role
Wall Street Bound, Inc. (WSB) is a 501(c)(3) finance education nonprofit that recruits, mentors, and trains under-represented youth for internships and careers in the financial services industry. Our work has been featured on CNBC, Forbes, Nasdaq #TradeTalks, Institutional Investor Magazine, and Fox Business News.
More than 1,100 students have come through our flagship program since launch, and 83% secured internships or full-time roles in finance as a result. Our partners include some of the biggest names on Wall Street. That record is what you will be selling, and it is what gets your calls returned.
This is a sales job at a mission driven nonprofit.
WSB sells corporate partnerships to financial services firms. Firms partner with us for access to our trained, diverse talent pipeline, to support our education and training programs, and for the brand value of the association. Because we are a 501(c)(3), that partnership is structured as an earned-revenue donation. Your buyer is typically a budget holder in the talent acquisition (HR), Inclusion & corporate social responsibility or Marketing department or lastly, a corporate foundation.
Today, the CEO is WSB's primary salesperson and fundraiser. Essentially all corporate revenue has been sourced by him personally, through a mix of cold outreach and introductions. That is currently the only source of corporate revenue at WSB. You are being hired to take that over, and if successful, to eventually own 100% of WSB's corporate partnership revenue.
You will build and own the corporate partnerships function: sourcing your own pipeline through cold outreach, working the warm leads we hand over at start, running the full cycle, and closing new partners. This is not a donor-cultivation or grant-writing role, and it is not a role where meetings arrive on your calendar. There is no SDR, no inbound flow, and no marketing engine feeding you leads. You prospect. If that is not the job you want, this is not the right fit.
Deals here run two to four months from first cold contact to signature, and you will carry a new-revenue target and activity standard from week one.
What you will own
Build and maintain your own target list of financial services firms and named decision makers
Run consistent cold outbound across phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person: multi-touch sequences over weeks, not one-off sends
Research firms, buyers, and program cycles to make outreach specific rather than generic
Work conferences, industry events, and referral paths as supplementary channels, not as a substitute for outbound
Hold a standard of 3 qualified first meetings per week, measured from week one and reviewed weekly with the CEO
New business
Nurture WSB's existing warm leads and in-progress conversations and carry them to close. This is a one-time handoff of a finite list, not an ongoing flow of leads.
Run discovery to understand what a firm is actually trying to solve: talent pipeline, community commitments, branding, or all three
Build tailored partnership proposals and present them to budget holders
Manage the cycle to close, including procurement, legal, and internal approval paths at financial services firms of every size
Renewals and portfolio growth
Own the commercial relationship with every account, including current partners. You are accountable for whether that revenue stays and grows. Delivery, reporting, and day-to-day servicing run through our Client Relations Manager, which keeps your time and focus on selling.
Drive renewals actively rather than assuming them, and find expansion inside existing partners. For partners already on the books, the Client Relations Manager runs the renewal conversation and you stay accountable for the outcome. For every partner you sign, you run it yourself.
Pipeline discipline and reporting
Log every contact, touch, meeting, and next step in Salesforce; an accurate CRM is a condition of the role, not administrative overhead
Bring an up-to-date pipeline to a standing weekly review with the CEO
Flag stalled deals and lost deals honestly and early
Who we are looking for
3+ years in a quota-carrying B2B sales role, with documented attainment. You should be able to state your quota and your percentage of attainment for each of the last three years, and expect us to verify it in references.
Demonstrated cold prospecting. Not "relationship management," not "partnership cultivation" — self-sourced pipeline you built from nothing. Be prepared to describe how you built a territory from a cold start.
Full-cycle ownership. You have prospected, qualified, proposed, and closed your own deals without an SDR ahead of you or a sales engineer beside you.
Comfort selling into large, slow institutions with multiple stakeholders and long approval chains.
Based in the New York metro area, or close enough to be in Manhattan regularly on short notice.
Strong signals
Sold Inclusion, ESG, talent-pipeline, or workforce development services into financial services
Sold corporate giving or CSR platforms (Benevity, YourCause, Bonterra, or similar), or event, program, and league sponsorships into corporate marketing and CSR budgets
Nonprofit corporate-partnerships experience with a verifiable dollar quota attached — we do not screen out nonprofit backgrounds, we screen out backgrounds without a number
What we are not looking for
Grant writing or foundation relations as a primary background
Donor stewardship without new-business responsibility
Account management where pipeline was generated by someone else
Compensation
On-target earnings: $102,500, with no cap on what you can earn above that
Performance bonus is paid as flat-dollar awards at defined new-revenue milestones, uncapped above target. Professional fundraising ethics prohibit paying a percentage of contributions raised, so the structure is built to reward the same outcome while staying compliant.
Benefits and Resources
- Health insurance, 50% employer-paid
- 401(k) with employer matching
- Paid time off and a flexible schedule
- Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and prospecting and contact data tools
- Budget for travel, client entertainment, and industry conferences
- Marketing and collateral support — no lead generation, but you are not building the deck alone
Where this role goes
This is the only corporate partnerships seat at WSB. There is no queue above you and no one whose job you are waiting on. Build this function and you run it: the revenue, the partner book, and whoever we hire into it next. Title and base move with performance here, not with time served.
The CEO will sell and close alongside you on major accounts and opportunities while you build credibility, then step back as you take those accounts over.
To Apply
This role reports directly to the Founder & CEO. It is remote, with regular in-person presence in Manhattan for client meetings, industry events, and time with the team. Send your resume along with a short note answering one question: describe a territory or book you built from a cold start, and tell us the number you delivered. Applications without that note will not be reviewed.
