Production Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Production Engineer - Mechanical to manage and monitor manufacturing operations, ensure production targets are achieved, and maintain quality and efficiency standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical manufacturing processes and a strong understanding of engineering drawings, production planning, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and fitting.
Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and monitor daily production activities as per production targets.
Ensure timely production while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and work instructions.
Manage manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and fitting.
Monitor manpower, machine utilisation, material availability, and overall production efficiency.
Identify production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase, and Design/Engineering teams.
Reduce rejection, rework, material wastage, cycle time, and machine downtime.
Prepare and maintain production reports, process sheets, SOPs, and work instructions.
Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of production machinery, tools, and measuring instruments.
Maintain shop-floor discipline and ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.
Requirements:
Diploma / B. E. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
2-5 years of experience in mechanical manufacturing/production.
Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
Hands-on knowledge of CNC/VMC, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and fitting will be preferred.
Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Analysis.
Good understanding of production planning and manpower management.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and team-coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/shop-floor environment.
Candidates from engineering manufacturing, machinery, fabrication, machining, or industrial production backgrounds will be preferred.
