Role Description The REBAR DETAILING & ESTIMATION role is a full-time, on-site position based in Erode. The role involves preparing detailed rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules from structural and architectural plans, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing construction drawings, performing quantity take-offs, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and resolving discrepancies or design conflicts. The role also requires preparing cost estimates, maintaining documentation, and supporting project timelines through clear communication with clients and internal teams. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate, timely deliverables that support smooth construction workflows.
Qualifications
Strong ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings, including foundations, slabs, beams, and columns.
Proficiency in rebar detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar CAD tools) and familiarity with bar bending schedules.
Knowledge of relevant building codes, industry standards, and reinforcement detailing practices.
Experience in quantity take-off, cost estimation, and preparation of material lists for reinforcement steel.
Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to identify and resolve drawing or design inconsistencies.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project teams on-site.
Ability to manage deadlines, organize multiple projects, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; prior experience in rebar detailing and estimation is highly desirable.
