Role Description The Overman role is a contract, on-site position based in Surat, responsible for supervising day-to-day mining operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. The role includes monitoring excavation activities, coordinating with engineers and geologists, implementing mine plans, and overseeing workforce deployment. The Overman is expected to inspect working areas, enforce mine safety procedures, maintain operational records and reports, and support budgeting and resource planning for the site. Regular communication with management and technical teams is required to address operational issues, optimize production, and uphold environmental and safety standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Mine Planning and Mining Engineering to effectively oversee and execute operational plans.
Candidates should possess strong Mine Safety knowledge to implement and monitor safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Candidates should possess skills in Geology to understand site conditions, strata behavior, and resource characteristics.
Candidates should possess Budgeting skills to support cost monitoring, resource allocation, and efficient use of materials and workforce.
Diploma or degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline, with valid Overman and applicable statutory certifications as required by local regulations.
Experience in underground or open-cast mining operations, with familiarity in relevant mining statutes and safety standards.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities to manage teams and coordinate with technical and management staff.
Ability to work on-site in Surat, adapt to changing operational conditions, and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
