E-commerce Business Analyst Intern

Statslane is looking for a Business Analyst Intern to research and analyze the sports gear and equipment market across India.
You will work closely with the team to understand the market for sports equipment, brands, products, pricing, distribution, and customer segments, and help identify opportunities to build a scalable sports commerce business.
What you’ll work on
Research sports gear and equipment brands across India
Analyze product categories, pricing, margins, and market positioning
Identify major brands, distributors, retailers, and emerging players
Study online and offline sports equipment markets
Build market and competitor databases
Analyze e-commerce platforms and sports specialty stores
Identify gaps and opportunities in the sports equipment market
Help develop business models, pricing strategies, and product/category plans
Prepare research reports, spreadsheets, and insights for the founding team
What we’re looking for
Strong research and analytical skills
Good understanding of Excel/Google Sheets
Ability to find, organize, and interpret market information
Interest in sports, e-commerce, startups, or consumer businesses
Strong attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Students or recent graduates in Business, Commerce, Economics, Marketing, Sports Management, or related fields are welcome
Nice to have
Experience with market research or competitive analysis
Understanding of e-commerce marketplaces
Familiarity with sports equipment and brands
Basic understanding of pricing, margins, and unit economics
