Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Field Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on expertise in Layer 2 switching, enterprise wireless deployments, and basic firewall configurations. In this role, you will be responsible for on-site deployment, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of client networking infrastructure across commercial and enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Layer 2 Switching: Install, configure, and maintain Enterprise L2 switches (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.). Implement VLANs, Trunking (802.1Q), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/RSTP), Link Aggregation (LACP), and Port Security.
· Enterprise Wireless Deployment: Conduct site surveys, deploy Wireless Access Points (APs), and configure Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC). Tune RF channels, power levels, and SSID security policies (WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise, Guest Portals).
Firewall Configuration: Perform basic setup and rule deployment for next-gen firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki, or SonicWall). Configure NAT, Security Policies, DHCP services, and basic site-to-site or remote-access IPsec/SSL VPNs.
On-Site Field Operations: Handle physical rack-and-stack of network hardware, structured cabling verification, patching, and labelling.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose L1/L2 network connectivity issues, packet loss, wireless coverage dead spots, and firewall drop logs using network tools and analysers (e.g., Wireshark).
Documentation: Maintain accurate site topology diagrams, rack layouts, IP allocation sheets, and field work completion reports.
Qualifications & Requirements

Skill Set / Criteria
Experience
Minimum 3 years in a Network Field Engineer, Systems Integration, or On-Site Support role.
L2 Switching
Strong knowledge of VLAN tagging, STP, LACP, MAC address tables, and switch stacking.
Enterprise Wireless
Hands-on experience deploying WLCs, APs, SSID design, and heat map analysis.
Firewall Setup
Practical experience setting up initial interface routing, inbound/outbound policies, and basic VPNs.
Certifications
Required/Preferred: CCNA (Routing & Switching/Wireless), Aruba ACMA/ACMP, or Fortinet NSE 4.
Logistics
Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel locally to client sites as required.
