Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in the Greater Kolkata Area. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, including posting journal entries, reconciling bank statements, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Daily responsibilities include preparing invoices, monitoring payments, and assisting in cash flow tracking. The role also involves preparing financial statements, supporting tax computations and filings, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. The Accountant will collaborate with senior team members on audits and client assignments, respond to client queries, and assist in preparing periodic management reports and documentation. The role requires close attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and maintaining organized financial records and working papers.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in accounting principles, including journal entries, ledgers, trial balance, and financial statement preparation.
Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable management, and general bookkeeping tasks.
Familiarity with tax computations, statutory compliances, and basic knowledge of audit procedures.
Comfort working with accounting software and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Tally, Excel, or similar platforms).
Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to maintain organized financial records.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team and interact with clients professionally.
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet reporting and filing deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; pursuing or holding a professional qualification (e.g., CA Intermediate) is an advantage.
Willingness to learn, adapt to evolving regulations and tools, and maintain high ethical and confidentiality standards.
