Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Fleet Management to manage and oversee day-to-day fleet and logistics operations in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing vehicle fleets, drivers, dispatch operations, maintenance schedules, delivery performance, and operational KPIs.
The role requires a strong operations professional who can ensure maximum fleet utilization, timely deliveries, cost efficiency, vehicle availability, driver productivity, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet and delivery/logistics activities.
Supervise and coordinate drivers, dispatch teams, fleet coordinators, and other operational staff.
Plan vehicle allocation, routes, dispatch schedules, and delivery requirements.
Monitor fleet utilization, vehicle availability, turnaround time, and delivery performance.
Ensure preventive and scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed on time to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, maintenance expenses, and other fleet operating costs.
Track operational KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for management.
Ensure drivers comply with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Handle operational issues including vehicle breakdowns, delivery delays, driver-related concerns, and emergency situations.
Coordinate with maintenance vendors, workshops, suppliers, and other external partners.
Identify opportunities to improve fleet productivity, reduce operating costs, and improve delivery efficiency.
Maintain accurate records relating to vehicles, drivers, maintenance, fuel, incidents, and fleet performance.
Work closely with senior management to ensure operational targets and service standards are consistently achieved.
Candidate Requirements
3–5 years of proven experience in fleet management, transportation, delivery, or logistics operations.
Strong hands-on experience managing vehicle fleets, drivers, dispatch operations, maintenance scheduling, and operational KPIs.
Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
Good understanding of fleet utilization, cost control, route planning, and operational efficiency.
Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Comfortable working in an overseas operational environment.
Preference will be given to Indian and Filipino nationals.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, disciplined, operationally strong, and capable of taking complete ownership of fleet operations. The candidate should be comfortable managing teams on the ground while also monitoring numbers, costs, productivity, and performance.
