Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Structural Steel Sales Engineer role based in Chennai. The role involves identifying and pursuing sales opportunities for structural steel solutions, managing client relationships, and preparing technical and commercial proposals. The Sales Engineer will collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to translate client requirements into feasible technical solutions and ensure accurate quotations. Day-to-day activities include conducting site visits, providing pre- and post-sales technical support, delivering product presentations, and participating in negotiations to close orders. The role also includes maintaining CRM records, tracking market trends, and supporting business development initiatives to expand SISCOL’s presence in the region.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Sales Engineering and Technical Support skills, with the ability to interpret structural steel designs and specifications.
Candidates should possess Sales and Customer Service skills to build relationships, manage accounts, and ensure client satisfaction.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for presenting solutions, coordinating with internal teams, and preparing clear documentation.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience in structural steel, construction, or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
Ability to work on-site with clients and project teams, including occasional travel as required.
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with basic engineering drawings or CAD tools is beneficial.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving sales targets ethically and collaboratively.
