Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Fashion Designer role based in Surat. The Senior Fashion Designer will lead the creation of new collections, including conceptualizing designs, developing mood boards, and translating ideas into detailed sketches and technical specifications of heavy embroidery sarees and wedding and girlish lehngas. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting fabrics and trims, working closely with embroidery teams to develop patterns, overseeing fittings, and ensuring garment construction meets design and quality standards. The role involves collaborating with production, merchandising, and sales teams to align designs with market requirements and timelines, as well as mentoring junior designers and providing creative direction across projects.
Qualifications
Strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, including concept development, sketching, and collection planning.
Hands-on expertise in Embroidery and Textiles, with the ability to design and develop intricate embroidered patterns and choose appropriate materials.
Proficiency in Fitting, garment construction oversight, and ensuring accurate drape, silhouette, and comfort.
Ability to work with design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD) to create technical drawings and presentations.
Experience in leading design projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and managing timelines in a fast-paced fashion environment.
Strong attention to detail, trend awareness, and understanding of market and customer preferences.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills to guide junior team members and interact with stakeholders.
Relevant degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, with prior experience in senior or lead design roles preferred.
