Company Description Karigari is an India-based Perceived Quality Design Studio that crafts forward-thinking design insights and experiences for brands, OEMs, and organizations. The studio specializes in User Experience Design, with a strong focus on perceived quality attributes that shape how products and environments are understood and valued. Role Description The Head of Design is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune District, leading the studio’s multidisciplinary design function. This role oversees end-to-end design projects, including visual, product, branding, and interior design initiatives, ensuring that all outcomes reflect Karigari’s perceived quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and mentoring the design team, defining design strategies, allocating resources, and maintaining high-quality deliverables across client engagements. The Head of Design collaborates with clients and internal stakeholders to understand user needs, translate them into coherent design directions, and present concepts and final solutions. The role also involves establishing design processes, reviewing work, providing constructive feedback, and staying current with design trends and tools relevant to Karigari’s practice.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Design Management, including leading multidisciplinary teams, setting design standards, and overseeing project delivery.
Proficiency in Visual Design and Branding, with the ability to create coherent visual systems, brand identities, and high-quality design assets.
Experience in Product Design, focusing on user-centered solutions that integrate perceived quality, usability, and aesthetic value.
Exposure to Interior Design, with an understanding of spatial planning, materials, and brand-aligned environment design.
Demonstrated ability to build and mentor design teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate complex design concepts clearly.
Advanced skills in relevant design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, CAD or 3D tools as appropriate).
Experience working with brands, OEMs, or organizations on user experience and perceived quality-driven projects.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong portfolio showcasing leadership in end-to-end design projects and the ability to translate user and business needs into effective design outcomes.
