Role Description The Senior Merchandiser role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Senior Merchandiser will manage end-to-end merchandising activities, including handling buyer communication, understanding requirements, and translating them into product, pricing, and delivery plans. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with design and sampling teams, following up with production and sourcing for trims and fabrics, and monitoring order status to ensure timely shipment. The role involves preparing costings, negotiating with suppliers, tracking approvals (samples, lab dips, fits), and maintaining accurate documentation and reports.
Qualifications
Strong merchandising and product development skills, including experience with apparel categories, costing, and order management.
Proficiency in vendor and buyer coordination, with the ability to manage communication, negotiations, and relationship building.
Solid understanding of garment manufacturing processes, fabric and trim sourcing, quality checkpoints, and production timelines.
Ability to use MS Office and relevant ERP or order-tracking systems for data management, reporting, and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and time management.
Capability to work on-site in Mumbai, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and handle multiple orders or seasons simultaneously.
Prior experience as a Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser in garments or textiles; experience with export or branded clients is an advantage.
Relevant diploma or degree in Fashion, Textile, Apparel Production, Merchandising, or Business is preferred.
