Palm & Isle | Part-time / Freelance
Palm & Isle is an emerging contemporary clothing brand currently developing its first collection.
We are looking for a freelance fashion professional to work closely with the founders during the early product-development stage. The role will primarily focus on helping us translate our creative direction into well-developed, commercially viable garments.
What you'll help with
Develop and refine garment designs and silhouettes in collaboration with the founders
Advise on suitable fabrics and blends for different garments
Help establish sizing, measurements and fit standards
Guide the practical process from design concept to sampling
Review initial samples and provide feedback on fit, construction and finishing
Provide guidance on fabric, sampling and manufacturing options as needed
What we're looking for
2–5 years of hands-on experience in apparel design and/or product development, preferably with contemporary, premium or emerging fashion brands
Background in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Product Development or a related field
Experience developing garments from concept through sampling
Strong understanding of silhouettes, garment construction, fabrics, fit and sizing
Ability to develop and refine designs, not just execute existing designs
Practical exposure to sampling and apparel production
Strong design sensibility with a practical, commercial and wearable approach
Portfolio demonstrating relevant apparel/product development work
Own laptop/computer and reliable internet connection
A background from NIFT, Pearl Academy, NID, FAD or a similar institution is a plus, but practical experience and portfolio will be given greater importance.
Freelance | Part-time | Approximately 2 days/week
₹10,000/month
This is an initial engagement focused on the early product-development stage. As the brand and working relationship develop, the scope of the role may expand based on contribution, requirements and mutual fit, with opportunities for increased responsibility and compensation accordingly.

Availability
Location: Mumbai-based candidates only. The role will primarily be remote/freelance, with occasional in-person meetings in Mumbai for brainstorming, design discussions, sample reviews and other key stages of product development.
