Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Purchasing Manager role based in Ahmedabad. The Senior Purchasing Manager will oversee end-to-end procurement activities for pharmaceuticals and related healthcare products, including vendor identification, vendor management, and contract negotiation. Responsibilities include planning and executing purchasing strategies, managing purchase orders, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with warehousing and distribution teams to ensure uninterrupted supply. The role involves analyzing market trends and pricing, maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, and preparing reports on purchasing performance and cost savings. The Senior Purchasing Manager will also mentor purchasing staff, collaborate with finance and operations teams, and support continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Qualifications
Strong skills in procurement and supply chain management, including vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and inventory planning.
Ability to analyze pricing, demand forecasts, and market trends to support data-driven purchasing decisions.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical or healthcare product categories, regulatory requirements, and quality standards is highly beneficial.
Proficiency in using ERP or procurement software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools for order management and data analysis.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams.
Proven experience in a senior purchasing or procurement leadership role, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or retail distribution.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, or a related field; advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain (such as CPSM, CIPS) are an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work with integrity, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to transparent, non-discriminatory purchasing practices.
