Note: This is not an immediate opportunity. We are putting together a team to acquire a fintech company that is listed on the London Stock Exchange and headquartered in London and San Francisco. The fundraising and takeover process might take 6-8 months. Potential candidates should be able to work with this timeline.
Company Description: Nugwa Consulting is an investment vehicle set up to acquire and develop companies in key sectors where we have sufficient expertise. The target company is a fintech payments company listed on the London Stock Exchange and operating in more than 50 countries globally. It is headquartered in the UK and the US.
Role Description: The Chief Product Officer (CPO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and executing the product vision and strategy across the target company's key markets (payments, later lending and risk management). The CPO will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, including market analysis, opportunity assessment, product roadmap development, and lifecycle management for existing and new products. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with senior leadership to align product strategy with business objectives, working closely with cross-functional teams to translate client needs into product features, and prioritizing initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and risk. The CPO will oversee product performance metrics, refine processes based on data and feedback, and ensure that product plans are communicated clearly and implemented effectively. This role also includes mentoring product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across commercial, operations, and technology teams.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Product Strategy and Product Management, especially in the fintech and payments niche.
Strong Project Management skills, with the ability to structure initiatives, manage timelines and resources, and drive cross-departmental execution.
Proven Team Leadership and Cross-functional Team Leadership capabilities, including mentoring product teams and coordinating with technology, operations, and commercial teams.
Extensive experience in fintech, payments, or B2B SAAS niches.
Data-driven decision-making skills, including proficiency in analyzing product performance metrics and using insights to guide strategic choices.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at executive and board levels.
Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced, and globally oriented environment, with strong organizational and self-management skills.
