TTS Voice Data Project Manager | Remote

Position Overview
AIDI is seeking an experienced TTS Voice Data Project Manager to lead professional voice-talent sourcing and Text-to-Speech (TTS) recording projects for global clients.
This role requires hands-on experience managing the complete TTS or synthetic-voice production lifecycle—from reviewing client requirements and selecting voice talent to licensing, studio recording, quality control, re-recording, and final delivery.
The Project Manager may be located anywhere. However, fluent Mandarin Chinese is required because the main client team communicates in Chinese.
Candidates with an established network of professional voice actors, voice agencies, or recording studios are strongly preferred. AIDI’s recruiting team can also provide support with talent sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination
Manage TTS recording projects from initial requirements through final client acceptance.
Review project specifications, including language and locale, gender, voice profile, persona, tone, pace, emotion, recording volume, technical standards, and deadlines.
Develop project plans, budgets, resource requirements, recording schedules, and delivery timelines.
Coordinate communication among clients, voice talent, studios, agencies, recruiting teams, legal or commercial teams, and internal project stakeholders.
Independently manage multiple markets, languages, or recording workstreams when required.
Identify production, scheduling, quality, licensing, and cost risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
Voice Talent Sourcing and Selection
Define the type of professional voice talent required for each TTS use case.
Evaluate voice actors based on accent, pronunciation, vocal quality, consistency, acting ability, persona, tone, and relevant recording experience.
Manage the collection and internal review of voice demos, custom samples, and audition recordings.
Present qualified candidates to the client and coordinate auditions, testing, feedback, and final selection.
Work with AIDI’s recruiting team and use professional networks, agencies, and studios to identify talent across markets.
Licensing, Pricing, and Vendor Management
Review voice-talent agreements and confirm that the required authorization is completed before recording begins.
Understand key TTS and synthetic-voice licensing considerations, including:
Recording and session fees
Voice usage and AI or synthetic-voice rights
Training-only versus broader commercial usage
First-party and third-party usage
Limited-term and perpetual licensing
Exclusivity and non-exclusivity
Market-specific or non-union requirements
Work with AIDI’s legal and commercial teams to ensure that agreements reflect the intended voice usage.
Prepare or review project quotations and estimate major cost components, including talent, licensing, studio services, engineering, post-production, quality assurance, project management, agency fees, and re-recording contingencies.
Evaluate whether talent, studio, and agency quotations are reasonable for the relevant market.
Support rate and contract negotiations with talent, studios, and agencies.
Recording Production and Quality Control
Coordinate pilot recordings before approving full-scale production.
Confirm that studios meet project requirements for recording environments, microphones, audio interfaces, software, file formats, and technical specifications.
Coordinate studio bookings and work with recording engineers and voice directors when required.
Ensure that talent follows the approved script, pronunciation guide, persona, tone, pace, and client direction.
Monitor the relationship between studio time, recorded material, and final usable audio hours.
Review recordings and coordinate corrective action for issues such as:
Mispronunciations or incorrect wording
Missing content
Background noise, clipping, echo, or audio artifacts
Inconsistent recording levels
Changes in pitch, pace, energy, tone, or persona
Failure to meet technical or client specifications
Manage re-recording, audio editing, file splitting, naming conventions, metadata, packaging, and final delivery.
Track client feedback and resolve outstanding quality issues before project closure.
Required Qualifications
Previous hands-on experience managing TTS, synthetic-voice, AI voice, or professional voice-recording projects.
Demonstrated experience managing the complete production process—not solely talent recruitment or general project coordination.
Direct experience working with professional voice actors, recording studios, voice agencies, or audio-production vendors.
Strong understanding of professional voice selection, audition management, studio recording, and audio-quality requirements.
Practical knowledge of voice licensing, talent authorization, and AI or synthetic-voice usage rights.
Experience preparing or reviewing TTS project budgets and vendor quotations.
Experience managing pilot recordings, batch production, quality assurance, re-recording, and final delivery.
Fluent Mandarin Chinese communication skills.
Professional working proficiency in English for communication with global teams, talents, studios, and vendors.
Strong project ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple countries or locales.
Preferred Qualifications
An existing network of professional voice actors, voice agencies, or recording studios.
Experience managing multilingual TTS projects across North America, Europe, Asia, or Latin America.
Experience supporting major technology companies, enterprise clients, or AI and speech-technology programs.
Familiarity with voice cloning, speech-model training, and synthetic-voice production.
Experience negotiating talent, licensing, agency, and studio rates across international markets.
A background in audio production, linguistics, speech technology, voice-over, or a related field.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate combines strong project management with practical TTS production expertise. They can assess whether a voice suits a specific persona, estimate recording and licensing costs, evaluate studio requirements, identify production-quality issues, and ensure talent authorization covers the intended AI or synthetic-voice usage.
They should also be comfortable leading pilot recordings, coordinating multiple international partners, solving production issues, and delivering consistent, client-ready audio at scale.
