Salesforce QA Lead

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce QA Lead to own quality strategy and execution for Salesforce solutions in a financial services environment. The successful person will provide hands-on leadership across functional, integration, regression, data, security and automated testing, while coordinating closely with business, product, development, architecture and release teams. The role requires strong Salesforce expertise, disciplined delivery practices and the ability to translate business and regulatory expectations into practical quality controls.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain the end-to-end QA strategy, test approach, standards, quality gates and release-readiness criteria for Salesforce initiatives.
Lead test planning, estimation, prioritization and execution across concurrent projects, enhancements, defects and production releases.
Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, solution designs and integration specifications to identify gaps, risks and testability concerns early.
Create and oversee test scenarios, test cases, traceability, test data and evidence for functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, data migration, security and user acceptance testing.
Coordinate testing across Salesforce clouds, custom components, workflows, permission models and connected enterprise systems.
Establish and expand automated regression testing using appropriate Salesforce and API automation tools, with integration into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
Lead defect triage, root-cause discussions and resolution follow-up; provide clear reporting on severity, business impact, trends and residual risk.
Validate roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules and segregation-of-duties controls, with particular attention to confidential client and financial data.
Partner with business stakeholders and product owners to plan UAT, support testers, manage evidence and obtain timely sign-off.
Monitor quality metrics and release health, and communicate concise status, risks, dependencies and recommendations to delivery leadership.
Coach QA analysts and promote consistent, reusable testing practices across the team.
Support production validation and post-release activities, including incident analysis and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
8 or more years of software quality assurance experience, including at least 4 years testing Salesforce solutions and 2 years in a QA lead role.
Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration and customization, including objects, flows, validation rules, Lightning components, Apex-based solutions, profiles, permission sets and sharing.
Demonstrated experience testing Salesforce integrations using REST or SOAP APIs, middleware, batch or event-driven interfaces, and downstream systems.
Hands-on experience with test management, defect tracking and agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms.
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools for UI and API testing; ability to evaluate what should be automated and maintain a sustainable regression suite.
Strong SQL and data-validation skills, including reconciliation and migration testing across complex datasets.
Working knowledge of CI/CD, source control and Salesforce release practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to challenge unclear requirements and communicate quality risks to technical and business stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently, organize multiple priorities and lead distributed teams in a fully remote environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to perform the engagement remotely from within Canada.
Financial Services Experience
Experience delivering Salesforce solutions in banking, wealth management, insurance, asset management or another regulated financial services domain.
Understanding of privacy, auditability, data retention, access control, segregation of duties and evidence requirements in regulated environments.
Experience validating customer or advisor journeys, onboarding, service workflows, case management, compliance processes or financial data integrations is strongly preferred.
Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud is considered a strong asset.
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform App Builder, Business Analyst or relevant Consultant credentials.
ISTQB or an equivalent testing certification.
Experience with tools such as Provar, Copado Robotic Testing, Selenium, Playwright, Postman, Rest Assured or comparable solutions.
Experience testing Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, OmniStudio or CRM Analytics.
Bilingual English and French communication skills.
