Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Smart Meter Installer Technician role based in Gwalior. The Smart Meter Installer Technician will install, configure, and replace smart meters at customer premises in accordance with safety and regulatory standards. Daily tasks include visiting assigned locations, performing pre-installation checks, wiring and connection of meters, and verifying proper functionality. The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting meter or connectivity issues, documenting work performed, and maintaining accurate records of installations. The technician will communicate clearly with customers and coordinate with utility teams to ensure minimal disruption and high-quality service. The role also includes adhering to safety protocols, maintaining tools and equipment, and participating in periodic training as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge of meters and smart metering systems, including installation and basic configuration.
Experience working with utilities or related field operations and familiarity with standard utility procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, identify faults, and perform basic repairs or adjustments.
Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
Basic understanding of electricity, electrical safety, and wiring practices.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical or electronics is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in various field conditions, including standing, climbing, and handling equipment.
Attention to detail, reliability, and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.
