Role Description The Service Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Tiruvannamalai, responsible for overseeing the service department and ensuring timely, high-quality maintenance and repair of tractors and related equipment. Daily activities include planning and assigning work to service technicians, monitoring job progress, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The role involves interacting with customers to understand service needs, provide estimates, explain repairs, and manage service-related concerns. The Service Manager will maintain service records, coordinate spare parts availability, and work with sales and administration teams to support overall dealership operations. This role also includes training and mentoring service staff, implementing process improvements, and tracking key performance indicators for the service department.
Qualifications
Strong technical understanding of tractors, agricultural machinery, and basic mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience managing service operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
Ability to lead, coach, and motivate service technicians and support staff.
Clear and professional communication skills for engaging with customers and colleagues.
Basic proficiency with service documentation, record-keeping, and use of computer-based tools or software.
Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues, prioritize tasks, and handle escalated service concerns.
Commitment to safety practices and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Prior experience in a tractor, automotive, or equipment service environment is highly beneficial.
Diploma or degree in mechanical or automotive engineering, or equivalent practical experience, preferred.
Ability to work on-site in Tiruvannamalai and engage regularly with local customers.
