Role Description This is a full-time/part-time, on-site Ophthalmologist role based in the Mohali district. The Ophthalmologist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and treat ocular diseases, and manage both acute and chronic eye conditions. Typical responsibilities include prescribing medications, recommending and performing surgical and laser procedures when indicated, and coordinating care with other medical professionals. The role also involves counseling patients on treatment options, documenting clinical findings accurately, and following established clinical protocols and safety standards. The Ophthalmologist will contribute to quality improvement initiatives and may participate in case discussions, teaching, or training activities as needed.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in clinical Medicine with the ability to manage systemic conditions related to eye health.
Expertise in Ophthalmology, including diagnosis and management of common and complex eye disorders.
Practical experience in Optometry principles, including refraction, visual acuity assessment, and prescription of corrective lenses.
Proficiency in ophthalmic Surgery, such as cataract and anterior segment procedures, with adherence to surgical safety standards.
Skill in using ophthalmic Laser technologies for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, where clinically appropriate.
Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed specialization in Ophthalmology (MD/MS or equivalent).
Valid medical registration/license to practice as an Ophthalmologist as per local regulatory requirements.
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to make evidence-based decisions.
Effective communication skills, commitment to ethical patient care, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to participate in continuing medical education and stay current with advances in eye care.
