NOTIFICATION FOR APPOINTMENT OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
in the following Research Project jointly undertaken by the Space Applications Centre (ISRO),
Ahmedabad, and All Saints' College, Thiruvananthapuram, under the NISAR Science Program.
Position Details
• Title of the project: 'Development of Multi-baseline PollnSAR Processing Tool Using NISAR
L-band Quad-Pol Timeseries Data'
• Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
• Number of Posts: One (01)
• Duration: Three (03) years, subject to satisfactory performance and continuation of project
funding
• Funding agency: Space Applications Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation, Ahmedabad
• Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- (+20% HRA) per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000/- (+20%
HRA) per month for the third year.
Nature of Work:
• lmplementation ( coding) and testing of time-series PollnSAR processor and retrieval modules
• Participation in ground truth data collection campaigns at identified study sites
• Contribution to validated PollnSAR algorithms, software development, and scientific publications
Essential Qualifications
• Postgraduate degree in Environmental Sciences/Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing/Data Science or
related disciplines with strong academic record plus Qualification in NET (CSIR/UGC) or GATE.
• Proficiency in programming (Python/MATLAB/RIC++) and data analysis
• Experience in SAR data processing
• Experience in remote sensing applications for vegetation and forest biomass studies
Desirable Qualifications
• Familiarity with GIS & RS software (SNAP, ENVI, POLSARPRO) and field data collection
• PolSAR/PollnSAR data processing
