Role Description The General Manager Manufacturing is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations at Criamos Engineering Pvt Ltd. This position oversees production planning, resource allocation, and shop-floor activities to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality engineered products. The role includes driving operational excellence initiatives, implementing best practices, and optimizing processes for productivity, safety, and cost efficiency. The General Manager Manufacturing will manage budgets related to manufacturing, coordinate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The position also involves leading and mentoring teams, setting performance goals, and supporting continuous improvement aligned with the company’s mission of quality and innovation.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Production Planning and Manufacturing Operations to oversee day-to-day plant activities and ensure efficient workflow.
Candidates should possess experience in Operations Management and Operational Excellence to implement continuous improvement, lean practices, and performance optimization.
Candidates should possess sound Budgeting and cost-control skills to manage manufacturing budgets, optimize resource utilization, and support profitability.
Relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing environments, preferably in precision or high-end engineered products, is highly beneficial.
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; an advanced degree or MBA in Operations or Management is an advantage.
Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and drive results on site.
Proficiency in using manufacturing ERP systems, production monitoring tools, and data-driven decision-making for process optimization.
Demonstrated experience in safety, quality management, and compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Knowledge in SPM manufacturing
