Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Secretary position in the Cardiothoracic Surgery office at Avera Heart Hospital, Coimbatore. The role involves managing appointment scheduling, coordinating patient visits, and maintaining accurate medical and administrative records for the cardiothoracic surgery department. The Secretary will handle phone calls and inquiries, prepare and organize departmental correspondence, reports, and documentation, and support surgeons and clinical staff with day-to-day administrative needs. Responsibilities also include managing office supplies, assisting with meeting arrangements, and ensuring that all front-office interactions are conducted in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications
Strong clerical skills, including data entry, records management, and document organization.
Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Exposure to company secretarial work or basic understanding of medical office procedures and compliance requirements.
Experience in executive administrative assistance, including calendar management and meeting coordination.
Customer service skills with a focus on empathy, patience, and professional conduct in a clinical environment.
Proficiency in office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email) and familiarity with hospital or clinic information systems is an advantage.
Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting, especially in surgery or cardiology departments, is preferred.
Relevant diploma or degree in administration, office management, or a related field.
