Role Description The Business Manager will oversee the financial and operational management of UNDP Egypt’s projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and donor requirements. This contract, remote role includes managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, as well as monitoring expenditures and cost-effectiveness. The Business Manager will coordinate with project teams and partners to support planning, procurement, and resource allocation, and will help design and implement internal controls and risk management measures. The role also involves preparing business performance analyses, supporting strategic decision-making, and contributing to the improvement of processes and systems that enhance operational efficiency. The Business Manager will regularly communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency, compliance, and timely delivery of project results.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting, with the ability to analyze data and support evidence-based decision-making.
Experience in project and operations management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of activities and resources.
Knowledge of risk management, internal controls, and compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
Proficiency in using office productivity tools and financial or ERP systems; advanced skills in spreadsheets and data analysis are an asset.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural teams.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a remote work setting.
Prior experience in international development, public sector, or non-profit organizations is highly desirable.
University degree in business administration, finance, economics, public administration, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, PMP) is an advantage.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic and/or other UN languages is an asset.
