Role Description The Head of SCM (Supply Chain Management) at Orbion Pharmaceuticals will oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai and involves establishing robust processes to ensure product availability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The role includes managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with manufacturing, quality, finance, and commercial teams to align supply plans with business goals. The Head of SCM will lead and develop the supply chain team, monitor performance through KPIs, mitigate risks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This position also involves handling escalations, supporting customer service requirements, and ensuring timely delivery to customers and distribution partners.

Experience: 20 years
Candidates should possess strong skills in Supply Chain Management, including demand planning, inventory optimization, and logistics coordination.
Candidates should possess skills in Operations Management to streamline proces
ses, manage capacity, and drive efficiency across the supply network.
Candidates should possess expertise in Procurement, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and cost control.
Candidates should possess proven Team Leadership abilities to guide cross-functional teams, develop talent, and foster a culture of accountability.
Candidates should possess Customer Service orientation, ensuring reliable order fulfillment, responsive issue resolution, and alignment with client expectations.
Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements, proficiency with ERP/supply chain planning tools, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field is required; a relevant master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPM) are an advantage.
