This interim assignment will suit someone who has been hands-on with coding recently, who has operated within a financial services or fintech category while building and leading teams of high-performing software engineers.
You do not need to have been a CTO before but must have been responsible of the engineering strategy of a product that sits in a financial services category. We require an immediate starter.
Summary
I’m working with a high-growth technology startup looking to hire an interim CTO. You’ll work closely with the CEO, CPO and wider leadership team to ensure the technology and engineering organisation can scale with the business. This role would suit someone who has been hands-on technically, with the code, and who has successfully grown and led a team of high-performing engineers.
About the Role
You’ll set the technical direction while enabling an established engineering team to execute with autonomy. The focus is on creating the frameworks, architecture and engineering culture that allows the team to move quickly without compromising scalability, security or quality. You’ll own the mid-term architectural strategy, align technology investment with the product roadmap, and help the business make the right technical trade-offs as it scales.
What We’re Looking For
Significant experience leading engineering teams
Recent hands-on software engineering experience
Experience in the financial services or Fin-tech markets
Strong technical and architectural judgement
Experience scaling software platforms and engineering teams
A track record of building and developing strong engineering leadership
Comfortable operating across technology, product and commercial conversations
Experience balancing rapid product development with scalability, security and compliance
This is a role for someone who wants to shape the technology and engineering organisation at a strategic level while remaining close enough to the technical detail to make excellent decisions.
