About Caidence
Caidence is building the first AI analyst for football. Coaching staffs today lose 15–20+ hours per opponent to manual film breakdown — importing film, hand-tagging every play, building tendency reports, and querying static databases. Caidence replaces that entirely: film comes in from XOS, Hudl, or any platform, and in under 30 minutes the AI has tagged every play across personnel, formation, motion, front, pressure, and coverage, generated a complete scouting report, built a searchable clip library, and stood up an assistant coaches can ask anything. The product runs on four AI layers working together: Auto-Scouting, Situational Intelligence, Predictive Intelligence, and Scout Card Generation.
About This Internship
This is a remote, unpaid opportunity to get real, hands-on experience building a full production system — from the computer vision pipeline that processes film to the platform coaches actually use. This role is builder-driven: you'll have meaningful ownership over your piece of the system and work directly on real technical problems, not busywork. We bring the football domain expertise, product vision, and direction — so this is best suited to someone comfortable working independently and driving their own technical decisions. This is not a substitute for a paid role — you won't be filling a position an employee would otherwise hold.
What You'll Work On
Computer vision models for automated play tagging — personnel, formation, motion, defensive front, pressure/blitz, coverage, play concept
Backend architecture — database schema, API design, and the pipeline connecting film ingestion to processed, queryable data
Front-end platform features — the scouting report interface, searchable clip library, and natural language query experience coaches interact with
Automated scout card generation — systems that auto-draw route trees, motion paths, and formations directly from film
End-to-end ownership — taking a feature from film input to a working, usable product surface
What We're Looking For
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Solid foundation across both computer vision and full-stack web development (front-end and back-end)
Comfortable figuring things out independently across the stack
Self-starter who wants real ownership over a technical problem
Genuine interest in sports, football, or applying AI to real-world domains
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
What You'll Get
Real ownership over a shipped piece of an early-stage AI product, end to end
Direct collaboration with the founder on product direction and football domain questions
A genuine portfolio piece and reference for future job searches
Front-row seat to how an early-stage startup actually gets built
Work arrangement
