Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pet Caretaker role based in Bengaluru. The Pet Caretaker is responsible for the daily care of boarded pets, including feeding according to specific dietary instructions, refreshing water, and maintaining clean living spaces. The role involves monitoring pet behavior and health, providing exercise and playtime, administering basic grooming tasks such as brushing and bathing when required, and promptly reporting any concerns to supervisors. The Pet Caretaker will also assist with check-in and check-out procedures, follow safety protocols, maintain hygiene standards across the facility, and interact professionally and kindly with pet guardians. The position requires consistent adherence to schedules, detailed record-keeping for each pet, and teamwork with other staff members to ensure a safe and positive environment.
Qualifications
Strong interest in animal welfare and experience handling dogs, cats, or other companion animals.
Ability to follow feeding, medication, and care instructions accurately and maintain detailed records.
Skills in observing animal behavior, recognizing signs of stress or illness, and escalating concerns promptly.
Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety practices in a pet boarding or similar environment.
Clear, respectful communication skills for interacting with pet guardians and team members.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and handle pets safely, and perform cleaning tasks.
Reliability in following schedules, completing tasks on time, and working collaboratively in a team.
Prior experience in pet boarding, veterinary clinics, shelters, or related settings is an advantage.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in animal care is a plus.
