Role Description The HR Operations Specialist will support day-to-day human resources activities for the Critical Minerals Security Program, ensuring efficient and compliant HR processes in a dynamic policy and research environment. This part-time remote role will coordinate HR operations such as onboarding and offboarding, employee data management, and documentation of HR procedures in line with organizational standards. The specialist will assist in implementing HR policies, support employee relations matters, and help maintain accurate records of performance, training, and compliance requirements. The role will collaborate with program leadership and CSIS HR partners to address HR-related inquiries, streamline workflows, and contribute to a positive and equitable work environment for team members.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in HR Operations and HR Management to support day-to-day human resources processes and workflows.
Solid background in Human Resources (HR) and HR Policies, including familiarity with compliance, documentation, and best practices.
Experience in Employee Relations, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and support a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a remote, part-time setting.
Proficiency with HR information systems, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools; comfort working in a technology-enabled environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey HR information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Understanding of or interest in policy, international affairs, or critical minerals and supply chain issues is an advantage.
Relevant education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
