Role Description The Fiber Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Vasai Virar. The Fiber Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing fiber optic networks, including both outside plant and in-building infrastructure. Typical day-to-day tasks include conducting site surveys, preparing network design layouts, coordinating cable routes, supervising installation teams, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety guidelines. The role involves troubleshooting fiber issues, performing testing and validation of optical links, and documenting all project activities and network changes. The Fiber Engineer will also collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within quality expectations.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Outside Plant infrastructure and field deployment practices.
Experience in Network Design, including route planning and fiber layout documentation.
Hands-on expertise with Fibre and Optical Fiber technologies, installation, splicing, and testing.
Project Management skills to coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables.
Understanding of industry standards and safety regulations related to fiber installation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams.
Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
Prior experience in fiber network deployment or telecom infrastructure projects is an advantage.
