Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead the company’s financial organization and provide executive-level guidance across financial planning, reporting, business performance, risk management, and long-term growth planning.
The CFO will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to strengthen financial discipline, improve visibility into business performance, and support informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong financial expertise with commercial judgment, operational understanding, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives, operating priorities, and long-term plans. Provide financial leadership across planning, investment decisions, resource allocation, and organizational growth initiatives.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting, long-range financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Establish effective planning processes that provide leadership with a clear view of expected financial performance and future requirements.
Financial Reporting
Oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Analyze financial results, business trends, variances, and key performance indicators and communicate relevant findings to executive leadership.
Accounting & Financial Operations
Oversee accounting, controllership, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, financial controls, and related financial operations. Ensure appropriate processes and reporting structures support accurate financial information.
Cash Flow & Liquidity Management
Monitor cash flow, working capital, liquidity, and short- and long-term financial requirements. Establish effective cash management practices and provide leadership with visibility into the company’s financial position.
Business Performance & Financial Analysis
Evaluate revenue, margins, expenses, productivity, operating performance, and other key financial indicators. Translate financial and operational data into practical recommendations for improving business performance.
Budget Management
Establish effective budget management processes and monitor actual performance against approved plans. Identify material variances, investigate underlying drivers, and work with business leaders to develop appropriate responses.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
Develop and maintain appropriate financial controls, policies, procedures, and risk management practices. Identify financial and operational risks and provide recommendations to strengthen the organization’s financial position.
Strategic Decision Support
Serve as a financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team on major business decisions, including investments, expansion plans, commercial initiatives, organizational changes, and operational priorities.
Executive Partnership
Work closely with executive leaders across Sales, Operations, Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and other functions to evaluate business opportunities and ensure financial considerations are incorporated into strategic planning.
Capital & Investment Planning
Develop capital planning strategies and evaluate financing alternatives, investment requirements, and major expenditures. Assess potential financial impact, risks, and expected returns to support informed decisions.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement
Evaluate financial systems, reporting processes, planning tools, and data structures. Lead improvements that increase reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, financial visibility, and scalability.
Compliance & External Financial Relationships
Oversee relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax professionals, banking partners, legal advisors, and other financial service providers. Ensure appropriate financial reporting and compliance processes are maintained.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance organization. Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and development plans while building a strong culture of accountability and operational excellence.
Organizational Planning
Partner with executive leadership on organizational planning, resource requirements, operating models, and long-term business priorities. Evaluate the financial implications of organizational decisions and provide practical guidance.
Executive Reporting
Prepare and present financial updates, forecasts, performance analysis, business insights, and strategic recommendations to the CEO, executive leadership team, and other appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications
Executive Finance Leadership
Proven experience leading finance and accounting organizations at a senior executive level, with a track record of supporting business strategy and operational decision-making.
Financial Expertise
Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, reporting, accounting, cash management, budgeting, financial analysis, and internal controls.
Strategic Thinking
Ability to connect financial strategy with broader business objectives and evaluate the financial implications of complex operational and commercial decisions.
Business & Commercial Understanding
Strong understanding of business operations, revenue models, cost structures, profitability, working capital, and organizational performance.
Analytical Skills
Excellent ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify meaningful trends, evaluate scenarios, and develop clear recommendations.
Leadership & Communication
Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
Risk Management
Experience establishing financial controls, evaluating business risks, and developing practical approaches to protect financial performance and business continuity.
Systems & Technology
Experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, reporting tools, forecasting solutions, and business analytics technologies.
Collaboration
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support business planning and organizational performance.
Remote Leadership
Experience leading geographically distributed teams and maintaining effective financial operations, communication, reporting, and accountability in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as CFO, Deputy CFO, VP of Finance, or in a comparable senior finance leadership position.
Experience leading finance organizations through business growth, organizational scaling, or significant operational change.
Experience in technology, SaaS, professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, or another complex operating environment.
Strong background in capital planning, financing strategies, investment analysis, or banking relationships.
Experience developing financial planning and reporting frameworks for growing organizations.
Experience partnering directly with CEOs, boards, investors, or senior executive teams.
CPA, MBA, or comparable advanced finance or business qualification is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
