Director of Business Intelligence

Role Description This full-time remote Director of Business Intelligence role is responsible for leading the organization’s BI strategy, ensuring data is translated into actionable insights that support decision-making across all business units. The Director oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define data and reporting requirements, guiding BI and data teams in solution delivery, and prioritizing initiatives that improve data quality and accessibility. This role also involves managing BI roadmaps, setting governance standards, monitoring performance of BI platforms, and promoting data literacy throughout the organization. The Director will regularly review key performance indicators, recommend improvements based on data findings, and ensure alignment of BI initiatives with overall business objectives.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights.
Experience in data modeling and data warehousing to design scalable, reliable data structures that support reporting and analytics.
Proficiency in data analytics, including use of BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to build dashboards and reports.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools to integrate, cleanse, and prepare data from multiple sources.
Demonstrated leadership in managing BI or data teams, including mentoring, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality practices, and compliance standards relevant to the organization’s industry.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence executive decision-makers.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
