Role Description This is a full-time Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Vadodara, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading mechanical and machine design activities, including concept development, detailed design, and optimization of automated systems such as gantry robots, conveyors, filling machines, packaging lines, and SPMs. Daily tasks include creating and reviewing 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools, performing mechanical calculations and tolerance analyses, selecting materials and components, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, controls, and project management. The role involves guiding junior engineers, ensuring designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards, supporting prototyping and testing, and providing technical input during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites when required.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong core mechanical skills, including Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, and Machine Design.
Candidates should possess product-focused design skills, including Product Design and experience in designing automated industrial machinery and systems.
Candidates should possess computer-aided design skills, including proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar 3D/2D platforms.
Relevant skills such as knowledge of industrial automation, robotics, materials and manufacturing processes, and mechanical analysis (stress, fatigue, and tolerance) are beneficial.
Experience leading design projects, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required, along with several years of experience in mechanical or machine design, ideally within industrial automation or machinery manufacturing.
