The company and role
FSA Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd is a well-recognized and highly respected engineering services provider with a solid clientele and a current substantial forward order book. Our head office is based in Brisbane, Australia, www.fsace.com.au.
We have existing South African based engineers and drafters and are looking to expand our workforce. This is a full time and exclusive position (40 hour week) with flexible start and finish times, preferably working late or starting early to provide some overlap with our Brisbane and Philippines offices.
The prime focus of this position will be the design of permanent and temporary works ranging from access platforms, marine access structures, gantries, bridges and marine structures such as dolphins, wharves, pontoons, docks, dry docks and retaining walls. Building and mining-related experience would also be considered.
The successful candidate will have:
· Formal engineering qualifications that can be recognized by Engineers Australia
· A minimum of 5 to 10 years structural design experience preferably in marine infrastructure, mining, bridges, temporary works, heavy lift and shift
· Have a high level of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills – Fluent written and verbal English communication skills
· To be self-motivated and self-reliant (due to working across differing time zones)
· The ability to work autonomously and as part of a smaller team
· Tekla TEDDS for Word proficiency would be a highly valued skill (as it is the main software to be used in this role)
· Prokon proficiency highly valued
· Revit proficiency highly valued
· Australian codes experience beneficial but not mandatory
