About Us:
Aviary Productions is currently seeking Art lead 3D Prop Modeler to join our team. We're a collective of game developers and students united to create a high-quality portfolio game using Unreal Engine 5. The aim is to launch this game on Steam for free, showcasing multiple portfolio pieces for each contributor.
This part-time position is unpaid, as our primary objective is to gather valuable experience in game development. We're searching for candidates who display a willingness to learn and possess the drive to explore and enhance their skills. While prior knowledge of the required roles is preferred, we welcome individuals eager to specialize and grow in those areas, even if their expertise is limited.
Role Description:
This is a full-time remote role for a Prop Modeler Lead at Aviary Productions. The role involves creating high-quality 3D prop models, managing asset pipelines, ensuring consistency in design, and collaborating with artists and developers. As a lead, the selected candidate will mentor team members, oversee their tasks, and contribute to the overall creative vision of the project. The Lead Prop Modeler will also communicate with cross-disciplinary teams to meet the goals and deadlines of the game development process.
Responsibilities:
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a remote team.
Make and manage tasks using Clickup (experience not required)
Proven experience in product development, including creating and polishing 3D assets for video games.
Proficiency with 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or equivalent tools.
Integration of game assets into Unreal Engine.
Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
Create 3D Models for Unreal Engine 5 using Maya, Blender, or any other equivalent software.
Manage .fbx files; importing and exporting from Modeling Software to Engine.
Create, improve, adjust, and polish 3D models to fit the project needs.
Attend weekly art team meetings, as well as weekly studio-wide meetings.
Learn industry-standard skills and build your portfolio.
Qualifications:
Enjoyment and ambition in game development and 3D Modeling.
Have previous work in creating Models in Blender, Maya, or similar software.
Have knowledge of Unreal Engine.
Willing to spend 15 hours a week to check in on tasks, give feedback, reference documentation, and create props.
Willing to learn, improve your skills, and implement feedback.
Able to effectively communicate with the team.
