Role Overview
As the Senior Director of Project Operations, you will lead the strategic integration of project governance, resource allocation, and operational excellence across the Matrix ecosystem. Operating in a highly matrixed and fast-paced venture environment, you will play a dual role: managing mission-critical, fund-level digital and operational transformations internally, while simultaneously serving as an elite tactical advisor to our portfolio company C-suites on scaling their PMO (Project Management Office), cross-functional workstreams, and product delivery models.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Operations & Scaling Support: Act as a strategic partner to early and growth-stage portfolio companies, guiding founders and executives on building scalable operational infrastructure, PMO methodologies, and efficient project execution frameworks.
Fund-Level Strategic Initiatives: Own the overall operating model for high-impact global projects within Matrix Partners, managing cross-functional timelines, resource constraints, and executive alignment across regions.
Cross-Functional Governance: Standardize and optimize centralized project metrics, tracking systems, and delivery standards, ensuring multi-million-dollar technology deployments or go-to-market initiatives remain on time and within scope.
Operational Bottleneck Erasure: Utilize deep data diagnostics to uncover operational friction, supply chain or technological risks, and execution latency within strategic initiatives, instantly designing triage playbooks.
Ecosystem Synergy & Playbooks: Develop repeatable, high-velocity organizational frameworks, corporate integration playbooks, and vendor networks that portfolio companies can leverage to shorten their path to market.
Executive Presentation & Accountability: Establish clear milestones and performance scorecards (KPIs) to provide executive leadership and investment committees with real-time visibility into project health and velocity.
