About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Oracle. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software solutions that support our mission-critical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance distributed services. As a key technical leader, you will mentor junior engineers, drive architectural decisions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming and distributed systems. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is required. Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable, highly available distributed services using languages such as Java, C++, C#, Javascript, or Go is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a systematic problem-solving approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership. Experience with microservice design patterns and cloud-native architectures is highly desirable. Candidates must exhibit behaviors aligned with OCI values and be capable of working effectively in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable distributed systems and microservices in alignment with business requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture and technical standards, ensuring best practices are followed.
Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Drive innovation by suggesting architectural improvements and exploring new technologies to enhance system performance and security.
Participate in code reviews, system testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Contribute to documentation, technical specifications, and project planning activities.
