Position Overview
Our client is an established global manufacturer of HVAC systems and equipment with a growing presence in the North American market. The organization is seeking an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to lead its U.S. business and accelerate the company's next phase of commercial growth.
This is a growth-focused CEO opportunity. The successful executive will be expected to increase revenue and market share, expand and strengthen the company's distribution network, develop strategic channel partnerships, and establish the organization as a leading player in the North American HVAC market.
The CEO will have broad responsibility for commercial strategy, P&L performance, organizational leadership, operations, channel development, customer relationships, and execution of the company's North American growth strategy.
Primary CEO Mandate
Accelerate revenue and market-share growth across North America.
Expand and strengthen the company's network of HVAC distributors, dealers, contractors, manufacturers' representatives, and other channel partners.
Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market and channel strategy aligned with the company's product portfolio and growth objectives.
Build high-value relationships with major HVAC distributors and key industry decision-makers.
Identify new markets, territories, strategic accounts, and channel opportunities capable of materially increasing company revenue.
Create a scalable commercial organization capable of supporting sustained growth.
Translate corporate and global strategy into a successful North American business plan with measurable financial and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Own the North American P&L and deliver sustainable revenue, profitability, cash flow, and market-share growth.
Lead overall business strategy, annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and execution.
Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with HVAC distributors, dealers, contractors, engineering firms, manufacturers' representatives, and other strategic partners.
Build, expand, and optimize the company's distribution and channel network.
Lead sales strategy, pricing strategy, market development, channel programs, and strategic account development.
Assess competitive positioning, market trends, customer requirements, and emerging opportunities within the North American HVAC market.
Partner with product, engineering, supply chain, finance, service, marketing, and operations leadership to ensure the business can support commercial growth.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing executive and management team.
Establish clear KPIs, accountability systems, sales metrics, operating rhythms, and performance expectations.
Strengthen organizational infrastructure, processes, systems, and talent to support rapid but disciplined growth.
Represent the company at major industry events, customer meetings, distributor meetings, and other strategic forums.
Partner effectively with global headquarters and international leadership while advocating for North American market requirements.
Ensure disciplined execution of strategic initiatives and provide transparent reporting to ownership and/or global leadership.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of progressive executive or senior business leadership experience, preferably within HVAC manufacturing or a closely related industry.
Demonstrated success leading a business, division, subsidiary, or significant P&L with direct accountability for financial results.
Proven track record of driving substantial business growth, revenue expansion, and/or market-share gains.
Established and credible relationships with HVAC distributors and other major channel participants.
Strong understanding of the HVAC manufacturer-to-distributor-to-contractor business model.
Demonstrated ability to develop, expand, and manage distribution and channel relationships.
Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies within the U.S. or North American HVAC market.
Strong financial and operational acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, margin management, and KPI development.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing sales, commercial, and operational teams.
Strong executive presence, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a high-growth and evolving organization.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as a CEO, President, Division President, or comparable business-unit leader.
Direct experience with a major HVAC manufacturer or recognized HVAC equipment brand.
Established relationships with national, regional, and independent HVAC distributors.
Experience working with contractors, dealers, manufacturers' representatives, engineering firms, or other HVAC channel partners.
Experience launching products, entering new territories, developing new channels, or building market presence for an HVAC manufacturer.
Experience expanding a global HVAC or industrial brand within the U.S. or North American market.
Experience working directly with international headquarters or cross-border executive teams.
Experience managing rapid growth, organizational transformation, or a market-entry initiative.
