Virtual Internship: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

Role Description
We are opening a 6-month virtual training room for 3 to 4 fellows. This is not a junior bench parked on billable client work. You will not be put in front of clients.
The First Half: A shared MEL spine covering theories of change that survive the field, indicators that measure true change rather than activity, data quality, contribution vs. attribution, and executive-ready writing.
Weekly Problem-Solving: Rigorous case studies drawn from our real-world portfolios in global health, NGO delivery, and systems innovation.
The Second Half (Tracks): Choose one specialized track: MEL for NGOs, MEL for Health, or MEL for Innovation.
Public Writing: Write two pieces (edited by the firm prior to publishing)—short learning notes and one professional MEL piece in your track.
What this is NOT:
Not a promise of a full-time job.
Not client-facing labor disguised as training.
Not full-time professional pay.
Program Terms & Structure
Format: Fully virtual, Nigeria-based. Approximately 20 hours/week.
Schedule: Weekly written brief on Mondays; Seminar on Thursdays (4:15 PM – 5:45 PM WAT).
Stipend: ₦50,000 per month (Please apply only if this works for you).
The Next Step: At month 6, you either graduate and exit, or - if funded project work allows - you may be embedded for a second 6-month term at ₦100,000/month as an Analyst-in-Training. This second seat is not guaranteed. If it doesn't exist, you leave with a stellar reference and public work we proudly stand behind.
Who We Are Looking For
Background: Public health, social sciences, statistics, economics, international development, or adjacent fields.
Eligibility: NYSC completed or ending within the first month of the program.
Experience: No prior MEL job history required.
Core Traits: People who can analyze an incomplete dataset and speak honestly; individuals who can think critically and take constructive editorial feedback.
