Writing Coach

Company Description Drafting a book in stealth mode is an early-stage initiative focused on developing a high-quality, long-form nonfiction book concept from inception to publication-ready manuscript. The project is currently operating without public branding, offering team members a unique opportunity to shape both content and process from the ground up. Work is fully remote and highly flexible, emphasizing autonomy, clear communication, and strong ownership of deliverables. Collaborators are encouraged to bring proven writing, coaching, and editorial expertise to help build a professional, impactful book.
Role Description The Writing Coach will provide one-on-one guidance to the primary author throughout the book development process in a remote capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing draft material, offering detailed feedback on structure, style, and clarity, and helping the author refine their voice and narrative arc. The role also involves co-creating writing plans, setting milestones, and holding regular coaching sessions to address challenges, improve craft, and maintain momentum. The Writing Coach will support research organization, suggest resources, and help transform complex ideas into clear, engaging prose. This position is designed for an experienced coach who is comfortable working discreetly on a confidential, in-progress manuscript.
Qualifications
Fluent in American English language.
Proficiency with MS Word.
Candidates should possess strong Book Coaching and general Coaching skills, with experience guiding authors through concept development, drafting, and revising long-form projects.
Candidates should possess advanced Writing and Creative Writing skills, including the ability to improve narrative flow, voice, and readability across multiple drafts.
Candidates should possess solid Research skills, with the ability to help identify credible sources, organize findings, and integrate information effectively into the manuscript.
Demonstrated experience coaching writers on book-length works (nonfiction or fiction), preferably with a portfolio or client references.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver constructive, actionable feedback in a supportive, nonjudgmental manner.
Strong organizational skills and comfort working independently in a remote setting, with reliable availability for scheduled coaching sessions.
Familiarity with modern writing tools and collaborative platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Notion, or similar) is beneficial.
Background in literature, writing, editing, or related fields is an asset, though equivalent professional experience is also valued.
Experience with screen play is preferred.
