School for a Village is excited to announce that we are recruiting a Director of Community Outreach to join our team. We are a fun, close-knit community of students from around the world and would love to have you join us! This position is remote, so you can work from anywhere!
Company Description
School for a Village (S4V) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by young people in Kenya and the United States. We aim to bridge the gap in science and technology education for underserved secondary schools around the world through need-specific, targeted support.
Example Projects: We built three science laboratories in Bahjoi, India - enabling over 1000 students to complete the entirety of the state-mandated curriculum for the first time. We also partnered with Choosito!, an NSF-funded student search engine and digital library, to bring high-quality, personalized resources to students in Nanyuki, Kenya. We are currently working on expanding free design thinking and coding bootcamps to secondary schools across Kenya. For more information, visit www.school4village.org.
Director of Community Outreach Job Description
We are seeking an organized, passionate individual with strong leadership skills to oversee our growing network of S4V Chapters and Ambassadors across the United States. You must be able to devote ~5 hours a week on a longitudinal basis to S4V.
Responsibilities
Develop strategies to grow S4V's Chapter & Ambassador system
Recruit and onboard new Chapters & Ambassadors nationwide
Collaborate with Chapters & Ambassadors to promote S4V's visibility and community engagement
Meet regularly with Chapters & Ambassadors
Assist on international projects as necessary
