Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Mortgage Loan Officer at Coast Home Loans. The Mortgage Loan Officer will work directly with prospective and current borrowers to guide them through the mortgage process, from initial inquiry and pre-qualification to closing. Daily responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their financial goals, explaining loan options, collecting and reviewing documentation, and coordinating with underwriting and processing teams. The role also involves evaluating applicant information, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines, maintaining accurate records in loan origination systems, and providing ongoing customer service and status updates. The Mortgage Loan Officer will actively build and manage a pipeline of clients through referrals, outreach, and relationship development with real estate professionals and other partners.
Qualifications
Experience as a Loan Officer or similar role with responsibility for originating and managing residential mortgage loans.
Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including current regulations, loan products, and market trends.
Understanding of Mortgage Lending processes, including application intake, documentation review, and loan structuring.
Familiarity with Underwriting guidelines and the ability to assess borrower eligibility and risk.
Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build long-term client relationships.
Proficiency with loan origination software and common office applications; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage a pipeline, and meet production and quality goals.
Relevant state mortgage licensing as required; prior experience in residential lending or financial services is preferred.
Strong ethical standards, commitment to regulatory compliance, and comfort working in a performance-driven setting.
