SAP Integration Architect (VCP)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP Integration Architect (VCP) based in India.
We are looking for a senior SAP integration professional to lead architecture, delivery governance, and execution across complex SAP and non-SAP landscapes.
You will own integration strategy and help design scalable, secure, and clean-core compliant solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite.
The role combines deep technical expertise with delivery leadership, stakeholder management, and hands-on solution ownership.
You will work across platforms including S/4HANA, ECC, SAP IBP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, and non-SAP applications.
The position involves shaping integration standards across APIs, events, messaging, security, monitoring, and error handling.
You will collaborate with business teams, SAP functional teams, infrastructure, security, BASIS teams, vendors, and system integrators.
This is a full-time hybrid opportunity based in Bengaluru for an experienced professional comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-changing environment.
Accountabilities
Define enterprise-wide integration architecture using SAP BTP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration/CPI, API Management, and Event Mesh.
Design scalable integration patterns across S/4HANA On-Premise and Cloud, ECC, SAP IBP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, and non-SAP applications.
Establish standards for synchronous and asynchronous integrations, APIs, events, message orchestration, and integration patterns.
Drive clean-core compliant integration architectures while minimizing custom modifications to the SAP core.
Lead end-to-end integration delivery across multiple programs, workstreams, vendors, and system integrators.
Own the integration roadmap, milestones, RAID management, dependencies, and delivery governance.
Review and approve Functional Specifications, Technical Specifications, Integration Design Documents, and related technical deliverables.
Ensure integration solutions meet agreed SLAs, performance benchmarks, security requirements, and architectural standards.
Lead integration readiness across SIT, UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
Provide hands-on technical leadership across SAP Cloud Integration, including iFlows, adapters, mappings, and orchestration.
Lead API Management activities covering REST/OData APIs, policies, throttling, and API-led integration approaches.
Design and guide event-driven integrations using Event Mesh.
Manage secure connectivity using SAP Cloud Connector and advise teams on secure integration architectures.
Guide implementation of OAuth2, certificates, JWT, PGP, encryption, and key-management mechanisms.
Act as the integration SPOC for business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, BASIS, security, infrastructure, vendors, and system integrators.
Define monitoring, alerting, logging, and error-handling strategies for critical integrations.
Lead hypercare and L3 support for high-priority integration solutions.
Drive performance tuning, resiliency, scalability, and continuous improvement across the integration landscape.
Requirements
Strong professional experience in SAP integration architecture, solution design, and delivery leadership.
Deep hands-on expertise with SAP BTP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration/CPI, API Management, and Event Mesh.
Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, both On-Premise and Cloud, as well as SAP ECC.
Experience integrating SAP platforms such as SAP IBP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, and non-SAP enterprise applications.
Strong knowledge of integration technologies and protocols including REST, OData, SOAP, IDoc, RFC, and EDI.
Proficiency with JSON, XML, XSLT, and Groovy scripting.
Strong understanding of integration patterns including Point-to-Point, Hub-and-Spoke, and event-driven architectures.
Experience designing and implementing API-led architectures.
Strong knowledge of integration security technologies and practices, including OAuth2, SAML, SSL, certificates, encryption, JWT, and PGP.
Strong understanding of SAP Clean Core principles, extensibility, and SAP-recommended integration practices.
Experience defining integration standards, governance frameworks, monitoring strategies, and operational processes.
Experience leading complex integration programs involving multiple workstreams, vendors, and technical teams.
Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex technical topics clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work independently on complex processes, solutions, and modules supporting multiple programs or systems.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, including the judgment to identify risks and escalate issues appropriately.
Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable taking initiative in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
Ability to remain composed and effective when priorities, requirements, or timelines change.
SAP BTP or integration-related certifications are an advantage.
