Role Description The Medical Coordinator is a full-time remote role responsible for organizing and supporting day-to-day clinical and administrative activities. This role includes coordinating patient appointments and follow-ups, managing communication between patients, providers, and external partners, and ensuring accurate documentation of medical information. The Medical Coordinator will handle incoming patient inquiries, provide timely and courteous customer service, and support providers with scheduling, referrals, and care coordination tasks. The role also involves maintaining confidential records, verifying patient information, and using electronic systems to track visits, services, and outcomes. The individual in this position will collaborate with clinical staff to help ensure patients receive clear instructions, appropriate follow-up, and a smooth care experience.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of medical terminology and basic principles of medicine to support accurate communication and documentation.
Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with patients, providers, and team members.
Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to respond professionally and empathetically to patient inquiries and concerns.
Experience or aptitude in patient care coordination, including scheduling, follow-up, and supporting patients through the care process.
Proficiency with electronic health records or similar digital systems, and strong attention to detail in data entry and recordkeeping.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize in a dynamic setting.
High level of integrity and commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Relevant experience in a medical office, home health, telehealth, or care coordination role; certification or coursework in healthcare administration or a related field is beneficial.
