Bookkeeper – Virtual Assistant

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to join an established Australian bookkeeping firm. This is a permanent work-from-home opportunity working directly with an Australian business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities for Australian clients
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Prepare and maintain financial reports
Process payroll and related bookkeeping tasks, where required
Assist with BAS preparation and GST-related bookkeeping
Manage invoices, receipts and other financial documentation
Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
Communicate with clients and respond to bookkeeping-related queries
Ensure all bookkeeping tasks are completed accurately and on time
Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as required
Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping
Experience working with Australian clients or Australian businesses is highly preferred
Strong understanding of Australian bookkeeping practices
Experience with Xero is highly desirable
Experience with other accounting software such as MYOB or QuickBooks is an advantage
Good understanding of GST, BAS and Australian accounting processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good English communication skills
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Reliable internet connection and a suitable home-office setup
